Navigating The Social Media Maze
Five Tips To Make Social Media Easier!

Social Media feels like a maze to so many people, especially when you have a million other important things to be doing in your day!  As social media has evolved, so have the tools to make it easier to manage.

Learn How To Schedule Posts Using Facebook1.  Schedule Posts!    Facebook has a tool that allows you to schedule a post on your Facebook page.  You could sit for an hour and schedule upcoming events, reminders the week or day before an event, posts about major holidays, or other encouraging posts.  Once they are scheduled, you don’t have to worry about your posts for that certain length of time.  You can also schedule posts using tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, and other programs.  Of course, there is a whole strategy to scheduling your posts, but that’s another conversation!

2.  Use Your Smartphone!  In today’s culture, there are a ton of great apps that allow you to post to social media easily.  They all let you connect photos or even videos straight from your phone’s photo folder!  Being on the go is no excuse for not posting to your social media accounts!

3.  Get Help!   The first step is admitting you have a problem, right?  Admitting you need help may be that first step you need to take to get momentum going on social media.  At Tintero Creative, we help businesses and organizations out with managing their social media.  This takes the burden off of you as the main point of contact, AND it helps bring more personality and variety to the types of posts you are creating.

4.  Remember good ideas!  Did one of your friends post a good quote or clever meme?  Did you find a great article that would be good to share on your social media?  Do what you need to do so that you remember that piece of information to share at a later time.  Screenshots on phones or computer screens are great.  Another way to remember things is to email yourself a link or reminder of where you found that information.  You might even hit that “share” button on Facebook, and change the setting so that it only shares with you, not your friends.  Find a system to remember ideas so that others on social media can inspire you!
5.  Have Fun With Social Media!  Put the social back in social media with spur of the moment posts.  The most popular posts we’ve found are posts that have pictures of real people (not stock photos) and puppies.  This doesn’t mean that is all you should post, but show your personality on social media and it will go a long way!

When you consider how convoluted social media can seem, especially from a marketing and strategy standpoint, it really is like a maze.  You could go in a lot of directions, come upon some dead ends, and feel lost.  If you keep your eye focused on WHY you are using social media, you will go a long way!  Using tools and tips to streamline your social media efforts will help you as you jump into this fun media channel and help you have fun with social media in the meantime!
